MeepingMonday!
Wow! Sunday must have been boring, since I only had three entries in my friend's list the whole day, and one of them was from the
xanth community I'm subscribed to, which almost never gets posts. Meep!
We finally have a bathroom floor and working water again! Woot for that! It's, like, actually a real floor, all flat and floorlike with no big holes in the middle, or awkward layers that decide to jut out at you for no particular reason.
They've replaced the stupid old tile squares with lenolium, which I personally like better anyway.
The acoustics of the bathroom have changed drastically without the tiling, and it's all weird to suddenly have a big acoustical change in a room you've known to sound the same for your entire life. The only other time that happened in this house was when Mom decided to rip the carpet out of the living room, since the carpet in there had become all ragged and warn, and looked really blah. Did I mention it sucked? No? Well, it did. The vacuum cleaner kept getting hung on it, and the one we had at the time made some really scary noises when that happened!
So, she decided to just rip the carpet out of the living room and hall way, and just have the hard wood floor. That lasted about 1.5 years, then she decided that carpet was good for us after all. Personally, I think that was one of the best times of my life. I was 7, and I threw things a lot, so more noise was to be made.
And, of course, the acoustics were completely different without the carpet, and I preferred it that way.
Still do, actually, but we've had contiguous carpit in the living room since 1993, replaced in 1997 when Mom set the house on fire. How boring!
So, we came home at around 12:30 yesterday afternoon, and I called
maryannna few hours before, and we talked for quite a while on and off yesterday about various things. I think she's now convinced that Cingular wireless is good for her, or something? She wants one of those, as she put it, "yummy phones" that can run talks.
Before we came back, I finished reading HBP, and, um, strange? That's all I'm going to say. To be honest, I think I've seen some fanfics that were better, and believe me, I've read lots and lots of fics. Some of them really are high quality stuff, but there are plenty that aren't.
It was good in it's way since it was the real thing and all, and most of the major events were sort of expected by everybody, including a bunch of fics I've read, but I felt oddly detatched through some of it, if you know what I mean.
Someone commented that they thought the editors got to it a bit much, as the writing style was definitely a bit different. But then, the same thing happened with book 5 as well.
Oh well, one more book left, and then it's all over. Want a bet people will still keep writing fics though, assuming there's any of the original canon plot to be continued, that is assuming everyone doesn't die off?
Hmm, should be interesting.
"So, BorrisInABox, what's happening today?" Well, let me tell you!
Nothing!
"Nothing?"
Yes, nothing!
"Are you sure?"
Yes, I'm sure!
"Oh, I see!"
I bet you do!"
Yes, I most definitely do!"
Well, that's great of you, really it is!
"You really don't appreciate me being around, do you?"
Well, to be honest, I don't! So would you...
"What, go off and die?"
Well, yeah! I've got better things to not do!
"Fine, you blart! I'm leaving right now!"
Fine!
"Great!"
Get stuffed!
"Stuffing in progress, please wait..."
That's the spirit!

Re: hum
Hmmm
I felt more detached reading Book 5 than this one though for some weird reason. Probably because I was racing one of my friends to finish it and that distracted me. Lol.
